Dangers of being an apostate

I know that being an apostate of islam is very dangerous. Even in free democratic countries people are afraid to express their disagreement with islam. That is why I do not think that ex-muslim meet up is safe. This web-site is available for everyone. Anyone can see when and where ex-muslims are going to meet. I am sure that there are muslims out there who would like to blow up a bunch of apostates. I think that this is the main reason why ex-muslims who registered on this web-site don't really get together. What are your opinions on this? What measures can be taken to communicate better and to avoid dangers?
